Godai (5th) Takahashi Kinai Tsuba

Nikubori sukashi tsuba of maru gata-slight nademaru gata shape.
Kaku mimi with silver fukurin. Kozuka and Kogai hitsu ana.
Very thick tsuba. 7.6cm X 7.3cm.

Design is "Noshi" strips of paper or ribbons tied in a knot (added on a card for special circumstances).

Originally, the Shodai Ishikawa Kinai was a token kirimonoshi (sword engraver). He formed a separate class, and was an eminent craftsman who originated the Kinai engraving method. Kinai family succeeded for six generations in Echizen area as Tsuba making family.
