Extremely beautiful and refined Katchushi iron Tsuba.
Late Muromachi period (ca 1550).
Maru-gata shape and Maru-mimi rim.
Fine cut leaf sukashi and stylised Kaga inlay of brass hira-zogan which is repeated on the reverse.
NOTE: The missing inlay is in relation to where the samurai's thumb would be.
Large rounded Ryu Hitsu associated with Shoami schools.
Excellant iron with fine bones and hammer work.
2 3/8in tall X 2 1/4in wide X 1/8in thick.
In fine original condition.
