Often have sukinokoshi or uchikaeshi mimi. |
Design Characteristics: |
The most common decoration is openwork in negative silhouette of mushroom shapes. Sometimes pieces have inlay of silver or brass in ten-zogan (dot inlay) or broad areas of silver and brass combined. |
Metal Surface: |
In later work there is a combination of rough hammered surface and kokuin (hot stamp designs). The best kokuin tsuba are those with the hana and kaze stamps. |
