A large iron sukashi tsuba for a katana. The forging is extremely well done showing multiple areas of tekotsu in the steel. The sukashi displays elements of weaving which relates to the seventh month of the lunar calendar; the Weaver, Vega. In the background is a torii gate. There are slight areas of gold inlay and the carving is very expressive. Accompanied with a hakogaki by Sato Kanzan. 8.65cm x 8.54cm x 0.50cm |
