Provenance: Elliott Long SOLD
"Iron mokko form plate with well hammered surface and four inome each at the four cardinal points. Fine iron bones appear on the rim edge. This Saotome school work shows the very best of this important school with the quality of the iron plate, the very fine hammer work, plus the excellant design of the inome, placing it equal to and in some cases superior to many works with the Nobuiye signature. This example was made about ca 1450-1500." (Long)
