Sengoku Japan - Katate-uchi
 
Collector's Rule: If you ever find a Shinogi-Tsukuri, Sengoku-era sword that is between 21" to 26" it is a Katate-uchi, long-sword. 
Hira-tsukuri of 14" to 17" were the Wakizashi of the day.
