'MUNETAKA SAKU'
|
PROVENANCE: Robert E. Haynes | Reference Only |
"Mokko iron plate with smooth surface, and slightly raised rim. Hot stamped with the design of the symbols for the five mountain ranges of China. With original copper plugs at top and bottom of the nakago-ana. Signed: 'Munetaka Saku', H 06254.0. The tsuba mentioned in the entry recorded in the SHOSANKENSHU M-604, is this same tsuba. It seems to have left England a good many years ago and has been in the U.S. for some time. In any event this is a very rare signature that needs more study and research." (Haynes) |
