SOTEN School Tsuba

PROVENANCE:    Robert E. Haynes $400.00
"A well made Soten style school tsuba of iron plate with carved sukashi design of two sages amongst pine trees. Inlaid with gold, copper, and silver on both sides. This style of work was often made as a dai-sho, with this being the sho of the set. That it is not signed is much in its favor since most of the signed Soten tsuba of this period are spurious at best. A good tsuba for mounting." (Haynes)
6.90cm x 6.70cm x 0.45cm.
