" Sado tsuba Exile - Sado Sanzaimon
"Snow Flowers Returning Wild Geese" Iron base, irregular shape, forged iron tsuba. The inscription "Sanzaimon" is not included in the inscription catalog, but the exile Sanzaimon is known in Sado. Also, Sanzaimon's associate, Yoshifuru, made a forged tsuba with a strong, undulating forged surface similar to this tsuba, so we have posted a picture for reference. Details such as whether Sanzaimon is the same person as Sanzaimon (Yoshifuru) or if there is some connection are unknown at this time." (Haynes & Long) 7.42cm x 7.51cm x 0.73cm (face) |
