Gold Inlaid Sakurahana Navagraha Crest Tsuba.
Twenty arabesque cherry blossoms and Navagraha crest are drawn with glossycloth inlay.
8.10cm x 8.15cm x 0.40cm to 0.30cm thickness.
Mitsumasa Yonemitsu (H 05249.0) May 1, 1888 (Meiji 21) - March 29, 1980 (Showa 55).
Japanese metalworker and engraver. Born in Kumamoto prefecture. A Living National Treasure that has acquired the Higo inlay that has continued since the Edo period and has passed down its tradition. He also put effort into training his disiples and produced master craftsmen.

Mitsutoshi Tanabe (H 05494.0).
A disciple of Living National Treasure Mitsumasa Yonemitsu. It is no exaggeration to say that this work is a masterpiece of Mitsutoshi Tanabe.
