KO-TOSHO Tsuba
|
Provenance: Elliott Long | SOLD |
"A round very strong and rugged iron tsuba combined with a study of the color and texture of the surface dates this piece to the Late Kamakura period. The thickness and shape is similar to the oldest Ko-tosho tsuba and exemplifies the high standard of them. The plain surface gives the impression of stillness. The hitsu-ana appears to be original to the piece." (Haynes & Long) |
