KO-SHOAMI Tsuba

Return to Tsuba Collective

Provenance:   Elliott Long Reference Only
"Early Edo (1600) iron tachi style Ko-Shoami tsuba. Pinned iron o-seppa's with nunome 24 carat gold vines each side. The vines appear intact with very slight loss.

The combination of the tsuba plate with attached o-seppa's with vine design displays an aesthetic quality of elegance and antiquity." (Haynes & Long)
