KO - SHOAMI
|
Provenance: Elliott Long | Reference Only |
"Round iron plate with a very fine texture and large hammer marks. Splendid patina that shows iridescence in sunlight. The raised rim hammered from plate (uchi-kaeshi). Two small sukashi caves and black shakudo filled kogai-ana. Tekotsu is large and plentiful. The quality of metal and plate used dates this piece to ca. 1500. Example of the type of plate used later by Kaneiye." (Long) |
