"This is a rare piece among the works of Shoami Ietake, who is known for his prolific work on the ground. This piece is included in the "Tatakara Kodomo Inscription Taikei" (Comprehensive Collection of Sword Fittings and Accessories) as one of the artist 's personal inscriptions, and is described as "rare examples of an inscription that simply reads 'Yo' without the inscription 'Yo' (Yoshu/ Iyo)." It is a valuable item. This is a magnificent item that allows you to appreciate the beauty of the iron tsuba within its unadorned construction, with round carved grooves and a trefoil openwork on the outstanding, thick iron base. Dates to ca. 1750." (Long)
