"It is housed in a paulownia wood box with the hakogaki dated 1959 by Torigoe Ichitaro (Ando), the author of Tsuba Kanshoki. The thickness of the web of this tsuba is 5.6 mm and the edge is 6.8 mm. The design is typical of the finest Owari works from the era dating to 1600. The iron has a good finish and there are no noticeable blemishes." (Haynes) |
