![]() ![]() "This is a kozuka with a plum tree design. It has a high-pitched carving, a hair carving, an inlaid color painting. The back has file marks that seem to represent a tree trunk. This is a very elegant and refined kozuka. The edge and the end of the kozuka are covered with gold. It is a very beautiful composition that looks great from both the vertical and horizontal sides. Toju is the pen name of Gyokujoken Hiromasa, a Mito metalworker and a disciple of Uchikoshi Hirotoshi." (Haynes & Long) |
