"Presented here is a very early Ko-Kinko tsuba with design of 'Chiku' (bamboo) and dew drops. Bamboos have been preferred as a subject for paintings and drawings because of its straightness of growing upward, and its vigorous strength observed in the cold winter. It is also represented as one of the 'Shi-kunshi'; the four plants meaning the Four Gentlemen.
Dates to mid Muromachi period." (Long)
