"Tetsuji sumikiri kakugi mokko shape round rim shikata inome kodato shallow carving. The ground surface is rough but surounding the boar watermarks, the choko and plum blossoms are shallowly carved giving it age and taste. The rim is sukinokoshi. This is a true Kamakura Period work dating to ca. 1400. This is very rare in style and workmanship." (Haynes & Long)
Certified with NBTHK Kicho (White Paper) 1960. 'IMPORTANT WORK'. Judged to be Kamakura work.
