A very elegant motif of four 'Tomoe' placed symetrically withing the rim. The rounded rim, slightly pointed seppa-dai, and size difference of the hitsu-ana mark it as Akasaka. The design is compact, full, and dignified as is to be expected of a work done by a master of the Akasaka school. Dates to middle Edo period. |
