Oval shape iron tsuba, design of a 40-leaf chrysanthemum, excellantly carved with each leaf the same size. Low-relief chiselwork on iron ground. With irregular rim and two hitsu, the kogai hitsu plugged with shakudo. Late Edo period.

Signed 'Tanzendo Tessai Tsukuru'. This is Fujiwara no Yoshikatsu H 11705.0. Besides the above art names, he also used Kakasan, Tanzendo (other kanji) and Zensuke. Worked in Wakayama in Kii Province and Kyoto. Born 1754, died ca. 1825.
