"Iron plate tsuba in hakkaku (octagon) shape with uchikaeshi mimi (rim) displaying ample tekkotsu. Both sides display Amida yasurime. Amida is the name of ancient Buddhism giving this piece a particular religious meaning, most likely signifing its owners faith. This workmanship displays an air of quiet simplicity. There is a kozuka-ana which is original to the piece." (Long) 70.1mm x 67.5mm x 4.7mm (rim), 4.2mm (face) |
