"Large oval shape iron plate with carved and inlayed design of a rabbit eating clover under the moon in clouds. The reverse showing the clover by the stream and clouds. All inlay of gold and silver is intact. Considered an exceptional piece of work displaying an erotic quality. Signed: 'Made at the age of 69', 'MOTOHARU' and kao. H 05853.0. He was a student of Taizan Motozane (H 06004.0). Taizan Motozane studied with the masters of the Nara school. His style became a combination of Hamano, Sugiura Joi and Yokoya school styles.
