KYO - SUKASHI
|
Provenance: Elliott D. Long | $4400.00 |
"An iron (tetsu-ji) tsuba of maru-gata form. The open work in this design of geese and a lozenge (diamond shape) is delicate, rhythmical, and elegant. The symetrical design of each quadrant, the thinness of the metal, and the shape and slenderness of the rim are characteristics of Kyo-sukashi style. The dignity, fullness, and brightness of the metal represents the late Muromachi period work at its finest."
