"Round iron plate with design of folding fans in openwork. The kaku mimi rim takes the form of a slightly rounded, but almost square-shape displaying tekkotsu. The kanji is under study. This very fine example of early Ko-Shoami work of the Muromachi period, ca. 1500-1550, shows the quality of the iron plate and the very well hammered and worked surface (tsuchime) that are the characteristics of the early examples of the Shoami school." (Long) 6.75cm x 6.85cm x 0.45cm |
