"Large circular iron plate nicely forged and hammered with excellent patina and color. There are traces of the original black lacquer. The hitsu-ana is original to the tsuba. The negative open work (sukashi) is of a bottle gourd for saki with stopper and carrying cord.

This work seems to be of the Muromachi period, ca. 1400-1450." (Long)

8.5cm x 8.45cm x 0.27cm (edge) x 0.35cm (seppa)
