"Iron plate shape known as jiyugata (free-form), not having a pre-determined outline, but allowed to form a natural outline for a subject. The jiyugata was frequently used by the Kasuga school of Higo, the Higo Nishigaki school, and by the latter generations of the Edo Akasaka school. On the face a design of a person fishing in a lake next to his home in a wooded area. Three geese flying overhead. On the reverse reeds by the lake and the sun behind a mountain. A Saga Kaneiye school design using iron on iron inlay." (Long) 4.70cm x 5.50cm x 0.30cm |
