"The iron, with a strong appearance, is well forged. The plum tree (Umenoki) branches and blossoms are within the maru mimi rim. The fabrication is excellant. Both hitsu-ana are unconventional in design. The shape of the seppa dai is koban.
This Akasaka design dates to ca. 1800, Edo period or earlier. Elements of this design flowed from the Ko-Shoami school." (Long)
